C3 Lighting's LED Products

C3 Lighting's LED based products define the next generation of backlit displays. Our innovative, state-of-the-art designs are environmentally friendly, energy-efficient and manufactured to qualify for both energy and tax rebates for commercial buildings. In addition, C3 Lighting's products utilize the innovative ION™ Light Engine. This revolutionary design not only provides industry standard levels of illumination and leading-edge energy efficiency, but also requires no change-out for more than ten years in QSR applications. Unlike competitive solutions, when the expected end-of-life of our products has been reached, they can be recycled with minimal environmental impact, since C3 Lighting's green manufacturing processes use 99% recyclable components.

C3 Lighting ION™ LED-Array Backlighting Technology

All products from C3 Lighting Menu Systems Division incorporate the ION™ Light Engine. Products include menu boards, light boxes, Tri-Vu displays and ceiling light panels. All of these revolutionary new products are 50% - 60% more energy-efficient than products using T-8 fluorescent lamps. Using LEDs as a source of illumination reduces the heat produced by our products, and therefore also lowers air conditioning costs.

What Are LEDs?

The first light-emitting solid-state diode was produced in 1907 by British experimenter H. J. Round of Marconi Labs, and the first practical visible-spectrum (red) LED was developed in 1962 by Nick Holonyak Jr. while working at General Electric Co. Holonyak is known as the "father of the light-emitting diode”. LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are semiconductors that glow when electricity passes through them. Light is emitted in the form of photons. The LED was the first solid state light source.
